What We’re Working Toward
Breaking925 is building the organizational foundations that will make sustained, systemic change possible. We are currently in our 2026–2028 foundational phase — a deliberate period of research, network-building, and capacity development before programming scales.
Our Strategic Focus: 2026–2028
Research and Evidence
We are conducting research into the gaps in existing programs, policies, legislation, and prior research related to career barriers for mid-to-senior professionals with disabilities and chronic health conditions. Our goal is to ground all future programming in evidence, not assumption.
Policy Reform and Systemic Advocacy
Through our National Office in Ottawa, Breaking925 engages with federal decision-makers, monitors legislation, and advances policy recommendations that support professionals with disabilities to enter, remain in, and return to the workforce.
All lobbying and political activities are conducted in accordance with the Lobbying Act and the Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act.
Visibility and Public Presence
We are building our public profile to educate Canadians — employers, policymakers, and the public — about the systemic barriers that mid-to-senior professionals with disabilities face, and to establish Breaking925 as a recognized national voice.
Network and Coalition Building
We are growing a national network of volunteers, partners, researchers, and community organizations. Our National Policy Reform Coalition — currently in development — will bring together cross-sector partners, advisors, and policy contributors to drive coordinated reform.
Organizational Stability and Governance
Before programs can scale, the foundation must be solid. Our 2026–2028 priorities include securing our first operating budget, strengthening governance, and establishing clear operational roles across our National Office and growing provincial network.
Our National Structure
Breaking925 operates through two interconnected levels:
National Office
Strategy, visibility, research, policy reform, governance, and engagement with Ottawa-based decision-makers.
Provincial/Territorial Offices
Local engagement, fundraising, partnership development, and community outreach.
Our first provincial office, the Ontario Office, launches in 2026 with a focus on fundraising, sponsor development, and GTA-area engagement. It is the first step in a national model designed to be scalable, sustainable, and community-rooted.
